Kenny Rogers
Popular singer and guitarist, born in Houston,
Texas, USA. While in high school he performed on
American Bandstand, and in the 1960s-1970s played in
various jazz, folk, and country-rock groups
including Kenny Rogers and the First Edition. On his
own as a country singer, he found wide popularity
with the hit ‘Lucille’ (1977), and then produced
such hits as ‘Lady’ (1980) and ‘I Don't Need You’
(1981). He hosted the popular television variety
program, "Rollin on the River" which provided a
popular showcase for some of the legendary
performers of modern music.
In 2004, Rogers' wife, Wanda, gave birth to
identical twin boys. He has three children from
previous marriages.
